Marriage and the family occupy one of the main places in the system of universal values. The word marry in the Kazakh language corresponds to a word úılený, , i.e. marriage involves the creation of a home (-úıhouse, úılený to get home).

So, the concept of marriage is expressed in Russian and Kazakh words with different internal form: to get a wife (in Russian) and create a house

(in Kazakh). And both words denote this concept from the position of a man, ie.

As for girls, when they marry, they get married, that is, they find a husband. In Kazakh language this concept is expressed by the phrase kúıeýge shyǵý (married) or тurmysqa shyǵý. . According to the "Kazakh-Russian dictionary" under the editorship of G. How to choose a wife?

 

Kazakhs suggest: 1) aıaǵyn kórip asyn ish, sheshesin kórip qyzyn al  (for food try, after seeing the dishes, the girl you marry, knowing her mother); 2) not to be choosy: tańdaǵan tazǵa jolyǵady (picky fiance bald wife get); 3) marry loving: óziń súıgendi alǵansha, ózińdi súıgendi al  (don't marry the one you love, marry the one who loves you).

Approved marriages between equals: 4 teńin tapsa tegin ber  (if the daughter will find exactly, give without compensation); 5) it is better to have one wife, polygamy is evaluated negatively: : eki qatyn alypsyń, bir pálege qalypsyń  (two wives have – in trouble eki qatyn alǵannyń qulaǵy tynbas, esekke mingenniń aıaǵy tynbas (he sat on his ass, feet no rest, took two wives – the ears no rest).

In addition to peace, tranquility and harmony necessary for a happy marriage, Kazakhs also note 1) as an indispensable attribute, the presence of children, preferably a large number: balaly úı bazar, balasyz úı qý mazar (the house with the children Bazaar, a house without children grave). 2) mutual respect: family otbasy sáni – syılastyq, dostyq sáni – qımastyq (friendship strong feeling of sincere, family is strong mutual respect);

3) coziness: úıiń jaman bolsa, kúıiń (when the house is no comfort, joy in life).
